Kate started her journey into music at a young age, composing scores to homemade slasher movies in her parent’s basement in Ohio.  The path to music began in Columbus, Ohio and continued on to Brooklyn, NY where she became the lead singer/songwriter of the Americana/Rock outfit, Bellewether, who headlined venues such as Joe's Pub and Rockwood Music Hall.  While in New York she also contributed vocals and vibraslap to the 1940s jazz/swing vocal trio, The Tickled Pinks. There were many celebratory events.  For six years she hosted a raging and mind-altering open mic. night in Greenwich Village at the legendary Caffe Vivaldi.  She was both inspired and vexed by humans with microphones. She has since re-located to Los Angeles, where she has returned her focus to songwriting, and playing bass in the band Merit Badge. Kate can be found performing her original music in the Los Angeles area, and continues to tour with The Tickled Pinks across the country. Kate is currently surfing the learning curve with a DIY album, that should be completed this year.

"There is a great deal of merit in what I do," says Kate.
