About
Kate started her journey into music at a young age, composing scores to homemade slasher movies in her parent’s basement in Toledo, Ohio.
The path continued through Columbus, Ohio and eventually on to Brooklyn, NY where she became the lead singer/songwriter of the Americana/Rock outfit, Bellewether, who headlined venues such as Joe's Pub and Rockwood Music Hall. While in New York she also contributed vocals and vibraslap to the 1940s jazz/swing vocal trio, The Tickled Pinks.
There were many celebratory events.
For six years she hosted a raging and mind-altering open mic. night in Greenwich Village at the legendary Caffe Vivaldi. She was both inspired and vexed by humans with microphones.
She now resides in Los Angeles, where she has returned her focus to songwriting, and playing bass in the band Merit Badge. She also works as a hospice nurse, and would like you to know:
“Everything dies. Have a nice day.”
